Celebrating the Centenary of Scottish Gas Murrayfield this year, Scottish Rugby has already announced two other concerts for the 2026 season when Luke Combs announced his tour last month followed by Bon Jovi. These announcements come off the back of the busiest concert season ever for the stadium, with three artists over five nights throughout the summer.

Robbie Williams kicked off the 2025 season with the opening night of his BRITPOP Tour. Oasis then returned to Scottish Gas Murrayfield for three nights and 204,000 fans as part of their long-awaited reunion tour. Rock n Roll legends, AC/DC then concluded the summer of concerts in the stadium, as well the European leg of their ‘POWER UP’ tour.

The Murrayfield Campus hosts over 50 major events per year. Ranging from sold-out Scotland international rugby matches at Scottish Gas Murrayfield, matches at Hive Stadium for Edinburgh Rugby, Scotland Women and U20, community rugby finals days for adult and youth competitions, corporate and business conferences and national fundraising events such as Kiltwalk and Men’s 10k and of course concerts. Next year, Scottish Gas Murrayfield will also be host to the Guinness Women’s Six Nations when Scotland take on the recently crowned World Champions, The Red Roses.

Last year, Scottish Rugby announced that it received an independent evaluation of its overall economic value to Scotland. The valuation covers from June to December 2024 and incorporates home matches for the national men’s and women’s teams; Edinburgh Rugby and Glasgow Warriors’ home fixtures; and the concerts and events hosted at Murrayfield and comes in at £120.4million.

Of that, more than one third was spent by visitors whose home was outside of Scotland at £41.9million. The media impact – included in the total figure – was calculated at £13.2million, of which the Taylor Swift |The Eras Tour staged at Murrayfield last June generated media coverage alone worth £8.3million.

The upcoming tour adds to an already historic career for Combs, who recently became the highest RIAA certified country artist ever with 168 million units sold (surpassing Garth Brooks) and made history as the first country artist to headline both Bonnaroo and Lollapalooza. Combs will go on to headline Austin City Limits Music Festival this weekend, after topping the bill at all-genre festivals such as Newport Folk Festival and New Orleans JazzFest earlier this year. Combs is also the first country artist with two songs earning a billion streams on Spotify and the first with four singles certified RIAA Diamond.

Additionally, Combs released The Prequel last week, a new 3-song collection featuring “My Kinda Saturday Night,” “15 Minutes” and “Days Like These” (listen HERE) and is nominated for three awards at the 2025 CMA Awards: Entertainer of the Year, Male Vocalist of the Year and Single of the Year (“Ain’t No Love in Oklahoma”).

The new music follows Combs’ single, “Back in the Saddle,” which is currently #8 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart and rising, as well as “Ain’t No Love in Oklahoma”—Combs’ 19th consecutive #1 single. Adding to his already unprecedented success at country radio, this achievement gives Combs the most consecutive #1s of any artist to start their career and led him to spend 53 cumulative weeks atop Billboard’s Country Airplay chart. These accomplishments follow Combs’ latest album, Fathers & Sons, which reflects on his experiences as a dad and the unique bond between parents and their children, and led NPR Music to praise, “he’s going beyond the country realm now and really has become a pop star, a global popstar.”

A Grand Ole Opry member and 11x CMA, 4x ACM, 6x Billboard Music Award-winner from Asheville, NC, Combs recently collaborated with artists such as Post Malone (“Guy For That” + “Missin’ You Like This”), Bailey Zimmerman (“Backup Plan,” the 2025 SEC Network anthem), Jon Bellion (“WHY”) and Alex Warren (“Ordinary (Live at Lollapalooza)”), and partnered with Opry Entertainment Group to open Category 10—an entertainment complex in downtown Nashville. Known for his electric live performances, Combs also performed an unforgettable duet of “Fast Car” with Tracy Chapman at the 66th Grammy Awards and joined forces with Eric Church, Billy Strings and James Taylor to headline “Concert for Carolina,” a special benefit show that raised over $24.5 million for Hurricane Helene relief efforts.

Last week it was announced that Robbie’s forthcoming musical biopic ‘Better Man’ soundtrack will be released digitally on December 27 with a physical release to follow. Every pre-order of the ‘Better Man’ soundtrack from the official store, until 6PM tomorrow (Tuesday 12th November) will include early access to pre-sale tour tickets from this Wednesday 13th November (UK dates) and Thursday 14th November (European dates).

Robbie said: “This tour is going to be my boldest yet – I can’t wait to see you next year. There will be songs from the movie ‘Better Man’, and some new music too…but more on that soon

Concerts like Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour in 2024, brought in an additional 3,000 front of house show-day staff and volunteers, with many coming from the Edinburgh and Lothians area. The three concerts are estimated to have contributed £77m to the Edinburgh economy alone. All events support local employment and contribute economically beyond the stadium campus.

In August, Scottish Rugby announced that Oasis will be returning to Scottish Gas Murrayfield in summer 2025 for three nights as part of their long-awaited reunion tour. In September it was then announced that Billy Joel is set to return to the UK for two exclusive performances in 2025. Billy Joel will perform at Scottish Gas Murrayfield on Saturday 7 June, marking his first time playing in Edinburgh for 46 years.

This will be the third time that Robbie Williams has played at Scottish Gas Murrayfield with his previous concerts being in 2003 and 2017.

Scottish Rugby can announce that Scotland Supporters Club members will have the opportunity to buy tickets through a venue allocation. Details will be sent over email to current Scotland Supporters Club members.

Robbie Williams holds several records for live performances … He still holds the Guinness World Record for his 2006 world tour – selling more than 1.6 million tickets in a single day. As well as the record attendance of 375,000 fans over three nights at his legendary Knebworth shows –  which has never been broken in the UK. More recently, this July saw Robbie return to BST Hyde Park in London for a critically-acclaimed and sold-out headline show.

The tour announcement comes as fans eagerly await the release of Robbie’s musical biopic film ‘Better Man’ which hits UK cinemas on December 26 and sees Williams portrayed as a CGI monkey throughout… Based on the true story of Robbie’s life and directed by Michael Gracey (‘The Greatest Showman’), the film is uniquely told from Robbie’s perspective, capturing his signature wit and indomitable spirit. The film follows his journey from childhood, to being the youngest member of chart-topping boyband Take That, through to his unparalleled achievements as a record-breaking solo artist – all the while confronting the challenges that stratospheric fame and success can bring.

Discussing the film, director Michael Gracey honed in on Robbie referring to himself as a monkey over and again. “Robbie would say things like, ‘I’m up the back dancing like a monkey.’ After a while, I thought, ‘Wouldn’t it be amazing to represent Robbie as a monkey in the film?’ Because Robbie is telling this story – and that’s how he sees himself.”
